Coleman mourns the loss of a beloved member of its community, Terry Eldred, who passed away at Shannon Medical Center on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Born in San Angelo, Texas, Terry’s journey began on August 26, 1988.
Terry led a fulfilling career working for the wind towers and later for the City of Coleman. His dedication and hard work left an indelible mark on those around him. A graduate of Santa Anna High School and the School of Automotive Machinist in Houston, Texas, Terry was committed to his education and personal growth.
In his leisure time, Terry indulged in his passion for racing cars, building motors, and drag racing. His enthusiasm for these hobbies brought him joy and connected him with others who shared his interests.
Remembered as a loving and caring father, Terry cherished moments spent with his children and family above all else. Known for his selfless nature, he always prioritized the needs of others before his own, a testament to his kind-hearted spirit.
Terry is survived by his two children, Elizabeth May Eldred and Conner Reed Eldred. He also leaves behind his mother Lisa Anderson and her husband Billy, his father Chris Eldred and his wife Kaylene, as well as his siblings Michael Ruth and wife Bianca, Jason Anderson and wife Shai Pope, Dustin Ruth and wife Ashley, Brittany Rivera, Sean Eldred, Em’lei Eldred. He shared a special bond with his cousin Jospeh Eldred and wife Lexi. Additionally, Terry is survived by his grandparents Terri Marworth, Ruphina Hopson, Sandra Rodgers, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, all of whom grieve the loss of a remarkable individual.
The memories Terry created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Dean, pastor at North Coleman Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Viewing will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home.
