Passionate, Caring, Energetic person, with a personality that makes you feel like family. Jarvis Green age 30 is a young up and coming professional in Brownwood, Tx. He hails from Mesquite, Tx and is the son of Michael and Linda Green. He has an older brother named Jordan and is married to the love of his life Jordan Green (who shares the same name as his brother). The two met in Brownwood 2018 and have been married since 2020.
Green went to college at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Graphic Design) in 2015. While attending Hardin Simmons, he was a 4-year letterman in football, under Coach Jesse Burleson. He pledged and became a member of the Kappa Pi Art Fraternity. As an up-and-coming artist, Green won the Outstanding Achievement Award for work in designing by the Literary and Art Magazine.
A year after graduating from college, Green moved to Brownwood to start his career as a graphic designer and videographer for Howard Payne University in 2016. One of the first major projects was leading a full logo redesign for the university. Wanting to be more than just an employee, Green became the sponsor of the Delta Epsilon Omega Fraternity.
After 5 years at HPU, Green transitioned to the City of Brownwood in 2021 as their Digital Media Specialist. He was attracted to the position as he is passionate about displaying the great things that Brownwood has to offer, highlighting businesses, and the great people who work for the city. He works on producing graphics, videos, websites, social media posts, etc. Green finds that he can always tell a story within a story, even from a picture he’s taken or while flying his drone around the city capturing videos.
Not wanting to leave the thrill and excitement of sports behind, Green partnered with Scott Coers in 2022 to produce replays for the Brownwood Lions. In 2023 he then teamed up with Ricky Ray to start Green and Ray Productions. The duo began working with the Lions Mothers Club and Lions Booster Club to record and produce replays of the Lions football games. During the season fans can see full replays and highlights.
When asked what keeps him going and producing, his response was “The Community.” He wants to use his talents to show off the amazing people in Brownwood, whether it’s businesses, high school sports, or church services. He believes in investing in young people and does that through church and GR productions. He hopes to bring more awareness to the cultural diversity in Brownwood and tries to show and interview different people in the community. He recently has produced videos for the City of Brownwood highlighting Cecil Holman Park and the RF Hardin School.
Green has a strong faith and knows he’s blessed to be a blessing to others. He is a part of the leadership team at Brownwood Community Church, he works to help run the services every Sunday. He and his wife Jordan served in the youth group as group leaders. He was the small group leader for teenage boys and had the pleasure of baptizing several.
Continuing his passion for his community, he served on the BISD Bond Committee to get the bond passed for school and sport facilities upgrades.
For all that he has done in the short amount of time he’s been in Brownwood Jarvis Green was selected as a 40 under 40 in 2023. He doesn’t do it for the notoriety or accolades, but for the betterment of the City of Brownwood and the amazing citizens.
For this and so much more, ROC solutes Jarvis Green for his vision and commitment to the community and for the outstanding work he’s done and will do in the future.
