WINTERS – The Bangs Dragons opened District 7-2A baseball action with a 15-3, five-inning road victory over the Winters Blizzards Tuesday afternoon.
Leading 3-1 after two innings, Bangs (7-4, 1-0) scored 11 runs in the top of the third inning to put the game away.
The Dragons finished with 10 hits, led by three from Conner Bible, two from Hunter Newton, and one apiece from Kenny Cole, Hunter Crowell, Zack Ferguson, Brayden Gatlin and Brody Newton. Bible also tallied a team-high three RBIs trailed by two each from Gatlin and Hunter Newton, and one by Cole, Crowell, Brody Newton and Skylar Minshew.
On the mound, Cole allowed one run on one hit with five strikeouts and two walks in three innings, while Bible pitched two innings and yielded a pair of runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts and no walks.
Bangs will compete in the Jim Ned tournament this weekend and will host De Leon at 7 p.m. Monday in its next District 7-2A contest.

Bangs Lady Dragons 19, Santa Anna 1
BANGS – In their final game before beginning their defense of their District 6-2A softball championship, the Bangs Dragons annihilated Santa Anna, 19-1, Tuesday.
Bangs (7-8) scored five runs in the first inning and 14 in the second, as the Lady Dragons recorded 19 hits. Jadyn Miller led the way with three hits followed by Cheyenne Rush, Neeley Bradley, Abby Wolf, Sally Powell and Jordan Valdez with two apiece, and Julianna Ethridge, Mattisyn Taylor, Kasey Solis, Emily Baker, Justice Baker and Aubrey Buford also tallied hits.
In the circle, Wolf and Rush combined to give up one run on three hits with five strikeouts.
The Lady Dragons will kick off their District 6-2A slate at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Eldorado.

Eastland 13, Early Lady Horns 8
EASTLAND – The Early Lady Horns dropped their District 8-3A softball opener by a 13-8 count to Eastland Tuesday afternoon.
Early (3-11, 0-1) fell behind 10-0 after two innings and faced a 13-1 deficit heading to the top of the fifth inning, where the Lady Horns scored seven runs to extend the contest.
The Lady Horns finished with five hits, drew four walks and were aided by four Eastland errors.
Jamie Vassar hit a three-run home run for Early, Aleeya McCombs doubled and drove in a run, Rylee Tupin singled and added two RBIs, and Gabby Leal and Marissa Reedy also singled.
In the circle, Aubrey Greaves gave up nine runs on five hits with two walks in 1.2 innings, while Sydney Greaves surrendered four runs on a pair of hits with six walks and a pair of strikeouts.
The Lady Horns will be back in action at 5 p.m. Friday when they host Dublin in their 8-3A home opener.

Cisco 11, Early Longhorns 9
CISCO – Leading 7-3 going to the bottom of the fourth inning, the Early Longhorns surrendered seven runs in the frame and were unable to recover in an 11-9 road loss to the Cisco Loboes.
Early (2-6-1) drew five walks, was aided by seven Cisco errors and finished with nine hits – two each from Jordan Campos, Ki Houston and Will Prochaska and one apiece from Ethan Pallette, Weston Barton, and Alex Perez. Prochaska and Perez contributed two RBIs each while Landen Brandstetter also recorded an RBI.
On the mound, Pallette, Brandstetter and Kamden Gamblin combined to allow 10 earned runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and five walks.
The Longhorns will be back in action this weekend at the Jim Ned tournament, then open District 8-3A competition at Brock at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
