LLANO – The Brownwood Lady Lions surrendered seven runs in the top of the fifth inning as Ingram Tom Moore Lady Warriors rallied for a 10-6 victory Saturday afternoon at the Llano tournament.
Brownwood led 5-4 after two innings, where the score remained until the fifth. The Lady Lions then mustered just one run their final trip to the plate.
Eight hits were amassed by the Brownwood offense – three from Chloe Walls who tripled, doubled, singled and drove in two runs; a pair from Carlee Burks; and one apiece from Lila Mares and Tynlea Wilson, who collected RBIs, along with Jakayla Peek. Maitlyn Esquivel added an RBI as well.
In the circle for Brownwood, Wilson allowed five earned runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and a pair of walks. The defense committed five errors behind her.
The Lady Lions’ second game of the day was canceled as the opponent withdrew from the tournament.
Brownwood (3-6) will be back in action Thursday as it begins play in the three-day Graham tournament.
