Early voting is underway for the Primary Election on March 5. In the Primary Election you can vote on a Democratic Party ballot or a Republican Party ballot, and help choose that party’s nominee for various offices in the General Election in November. While it is easier to become familiar with candidates for local offices, it is more difficult to get much information on candidates for statewide offices. The Texas League of Women Voters produces its Non-partisan Voters Guide to help. Included in the Guide are all candidates (at least those who choose to participate) for these offices: U.S. Senator; Texas Railroad Commissioner; Texas Supreme Court; Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; and Texas State Board of Education.
Printed copies of the Voters Guide are available at the Brownwood Community Library. To read a digital version, click here.
