Air Evac Lifeteam is a trusted provider of emergent air medical transportation services, with a fleet of over 150 helicopter air ambulance bases spanning 18 states. Established in Missouri in 1985, this air ambulance service remains committed to increasing access to emergency trauma care for rural Americans. The Brownwood, Texas base has been in operation since 2002, as part of this effort to bring emergency trauma care to rural Americans.
For patients facing life- or limb-threatening medical emergencies, the speed at which they can receive treatment at a trauma center or advanced health care center can make all the difference in their recovery. In case of an emergency, if requested by a hospital or first responder, Air Evac Lifeteam providers respond and transport patients to the closest appropriate hospital for continuing care. The flight crews work 24 hour shifts, pilots work 12 hour shifts. Each shift, pilot or paramedic, consists of paperwork and mandatory rest times when the team is not on a call. The team flies in a Bell 206L4, stored in a hangar across the street from Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood, ready to go at a moment’s notice. The crews of Air Evac Life Team are always trying to be the best they possibly can, so that when the call does come in, they are as prepared for it as they are able.

The largest air ambulance membership network in the country, deploying from 320 locations across 38 states—and continuously expanding to additional bases. AirMedCare Network providers were called upon by medical professionals to transport over 100,000 patients last year.
