Roy M. Dodson, 97, of Brownwood, TX was called to his Eternal Home Saturday January 20, 2024.
Roy was born in Lohn, Texas on August 29, 127. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jo Dodson, daughter Nonnie Jo Chapman, his parents Samuel and Louvina Dodson, five brothers, six and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived by three children, son Dale Dodson and wife Patsy of Brownwood, daughters Gail Stafford of Clyde and Patrica Wilson of Brownwood, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Roy served in the USAF and the US Coast Guard during WWll. After his military career he worked as a long haul truck driver and eventually retired from superior cable.
Roy loved his family and always le by example. He was kind, generous and honest. He led his kid by setting the example of what a good person is. Roy loved to hunt and fish, and he probably hunted and fished every stream, lake, bayou, river, or dry creek bed in most of Texas and beyond. He was loved by all who knew him, especially his family who were pretty certain he walked on water. He will be incredibly missed but he lived a long and happy life. We will rest well knowing he will be reunited with his wife and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 6-8 pm in the Davis-Morris Chapel, Services will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10 am at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, following to the Bangs Cemetery.
