EARLY – The Early Longhorns improved to 2-4 in District 8-3A basketball action Wednesday night with a 52-48 home victory over the Eastland Mavericks.
The Longhorns trailed 12-6 after one quarter, grabbed a 26-23 lead at halftime, and carried a 35-30 advantage into the fourth period.
Kamden Gamblin led Early with 15 points trailed by Rohyn Price with 14, Andrew Caten with 12, Dalton Adams with 11, and Weston Barton with two points.

May Lady Tigers 43, Cross Plains 26
MAY – The May Lady Tigers remained undefeated in District 13-A action with a 43-26 home win over Cross Plains Wednesday night.
May (19-6, 4-0) trailed 9-8 after one quarter, seized a 23-13 halftime lead, and took a 37-24 edge into the fourth period.
Jordyn Gerhardt scored 19 points for the Lady Tigers trailed by Chloe Lord with 13, Kenleigh Williford with six, Estrella Bustamante and Kenlyn King with two apiece, and McKenna Landes with one point.

May Tigers 45, Cross Plains 34
MAY – The May Tigers kept their flawless District 13-A record intact with a 45-34 home triumph over Cross Plains Wednesday night.
The Tigers (15-6, 2-0) led by a 9-8 count after one quarter, 20-14 at halftime, and 31-21 heading into the final period.
Zack Martin paced May with 16 points followed by Brody Stice with 10, JD White with seven, Ben Harrell and Mikey Schreiger with five apiece, Kaden Watkins with two points.
The Lady Tigers and Tigers visit Eula at 6 p.m. Friday in doubleheader action.

Eastland 52, Early Lady Horns 37
EARLY – The Early Lady Horns slipped to 2-6 against District 8-3A competition with Wednesday’s 52-37 home loss to Eastland to start the second half of league play.
The Lady Horns were down 7-3 after one quarter, 29-15 at halftime, and 39-26 through three periods.
Jamie Vasser scored 14 points for Early followed by Jenna Hataway with 11, Dakota Barksdale with eight, and Lindsey Bastardo with four points.
The Lady Horns and Longhorns head to Dublin at 6:15 p.m. Friday for another 8-3A doubleheader.
