GRAHAM – Cold shooting nights have plagued the Brownwood Lady Lions at various times throughout the season, and that again was Friday in District 6-4A action at Graham.
The Lady Lions dropped a 39-30 decision at Graham to fall to 1-2 in league play and 17-10 overall, as Brownwood shot just 17 percent (10 of 57) from the floor and 9 percent (2 of 21) from beyond the three-point arc.
Brownwood trailed 9-3 after one quarter and 15-3 less than a minute into the second period. The Lady Lions were down 21-9 at halftime and faced a 27-17 deficit heading to the fourth quarter. There, Brownwood found itself down 33-18 before reeling off 12 of the next 13 points to close the gap to 34-30. The Lady Lions did not score the rest of the contest, however.
Trinity Roberts led the way with nine points for the Lady Lions trailed by Hannah Deen and Kimber Green with six apiece, Icess Hall with five, Miranda Northcutt with three and Rylie Schaffer with one point.
Hannah Williams led Graham (8-10, 1-1) with 10 points followed by Mayci Ryans with nine on a trio of first-half three-pointers.
Brownwood wraps up the first half of District 6-4A action at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday as it plays host to Stephenville (17-8, 2-0).
