GRAHAM – The Brownwood Lions recorded the first bucket in their District 6-4A opener Friday night, then surrendered the next 23 points and never recovered in a 76-38 road loss to the Graham Steers.
The Lions (10-17, 0-1) faced a 23-5 deficit after one quarter, a 41-13 halftime hole, and were down 56-30 heading to the final period.
For Brownwood, Morsello Hooker finished with 12 points followed by Carson Noe with nine, Ike Hall with seven, Ross Stasner with six, Weston Wolf with three points, and Hayden Noe with a free throw.
Graham (14-12, 1-0) received 19 points from Snead, 14 from Spurlin, and 13 points from Weaver.
The Lions will attempt to nab their first District 6-4A victory at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday as Stephenville (13-12, 0-0) visits.
