EARLY – The Early Longhorns notched their first District 8-3A victory over Millsap, 53-36, Friday.
The Longhorns (1-2 in district) led 18-9 after one quarter, 33-18 at halftime, and 41-27 heading into the fourth period.
Kamden Gamblin scored 20 points for Early trailed by 11 from Dalton Adams, nine from Weston Barton, seven from Rohyn Price, four from Andrew Caten and two points from Jacob McDaniel.

Zephyr Bulldogs 63, Gustine 25
GUSTINE – The Zephyr Bulldogs improved to 16-6 overall and 3-0 in District 18-A action with a 63-25 win over Gustine Friday.
Zephyr led 22-2 after one quarter, 30-4 at halftime, and 48-9 heading into the fourth period.
Reese Hamm scored a team-high 14 points followed by Karsen Floyd with 11, Wyatt Stevens with nine, Ethan Byers and Hunter Davidson with eight each, Rhett Williams with six, and Cooper Walls with four points.

Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 53, Gustine 15
GUSTINE – The Zephyr Lady Bulldogs kept their perfect District 18-A record intact with a 53-15 road victory over Gustine Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs (5-0 in district) led 16-3 after one quarter, 32-6 at halftime, and 46-9 heading into the fourth period.
Avery Dozier and Aliyah Harlan both finished with 12 points trailed by Cali McRee with seven, Nae’J Payne and Ronni McClain with six apiece, McKenna Cash with five, Eason with three, and Avery Williams with two points.

May Lady Tigers 44, Rising Star 14
RISING STAR – The May Lady Tigers opened the District 13-A basketball action with a 44-14 road victory over Rising Star Friday.
May (16-6, 1-0) led 10-6 after one quarter, 21-7 at halftime, and 30-11 through three periods.
Leading the charge for the Lady Tigers were Jordyn Gerhardt with 26 points, and Kenleigh Williford and Chloe Lord with nine points apiece.

MAY – The May Tigers chalked up a 56-29 non-district victory over Strawn Friday night.
The Tigers (12-6) were in front 19-3 after one quarter, 29-13 at halftime, and 44-19 after three periods.
May received 17 points from Brody Stice, 13 from Zack Martin, eight from Ben Harrell, seven from Mikey Scheriger, four from Jackson Lusk, three from Cayson Dail and two points each from Ryland Billadeau and Wyatt Hardy.

Miles 62, Bangs Lady Dragons 40
MILES – The Bangs Lady Dragons tumbled in their District 8-2A basketball opener, 62-40 at Miles Friday night.
The Lady Dragons (0-1 in district) trailed 24-6 after one quarter, 36-16 at halftime, and 52-29 through three frames.
Kasey Solis scored 20 points for Bangs followed by Neeley Bradley with seven, Joey Newton with five, and Jaylee Valdez and Raylee Hutchins with four points each.

Millsap 50, Early Lady Horns 26
EARLY – The Early Lady Horns slipped to 2-3 in District 8-3A action with a 50-26 home loss to Millsap Friday.
Early was down 11-5 after one period, 30-16 at intermission, and 42-21 heading into the final stanza.
Scoring for the Lady Horns were Jamie Vassar and Pearl Sharp with nine points apiece, and Jenna Hataway with eight points.
