ABILENE – Winners of seven of their last nine outings, the Brownwood Lions were dealt a 95-40 setback by the Class 5A Abilene High Eagles Friday night.
Abilene High (13-4) led Brownwood (8-9) by a 31-11 count after one period, 56-23 at halftime, and 78-34 heading to the fourth quarter.
The Lions received 10 points from Morsello Hooker, eight from Aaron Edmonds, six each from Casey Friebel and Hayden Noe, three from Ross Stasner, and two points apiece from Grant Gray, Ike Hall and Weston Wolf.
Brownwood’s next game is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Snyder.
