JoEtta Cook, born JoEtta Cornelius on February 24, 1943, in Brownwood, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 80 in Brownwood. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, December 18, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
JoEtta married the love of her life, Billy Cook, on November 30, 1968. They had one daughter, Tonya Kinzler. She embraced every moment with her husband and daughter. Her life was spent caring and loving others. JoEtta had a special way of getting to know people and making them feel valued. She graduated from Zephyr High School. JoEtta devoted her life to being a wife and stay-at-home mom, prioritizing the needs and happiness of her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, nana, mother-in-law, and friend.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Taylar and Christian. Not a day went by that she didn’t pick them up from school with a snack in hand, ready to listen patiently to all the details of their day. The love she had for her family was evident.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Kinzler, and her husband Albert; sister, Joyce Singleton and 2 grandchildren, Taylar and Christian Kinzler.
JoEtta is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Cook, parents, Ruby and Minnie Cornelius and brother Wayne Cornelius.
Joetta will be deeply missed by all that knew and cared for her. A special thank you to the staff/family at Pecan Bayou Nursing and Rehab for their care, kindness, and friendship over the last 2 years.
