Stanley “Stan” Ray Howard, age 71, died Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion. Inurnment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Born in Coleman, Texas, Stan was the son of the late Donald Ray Howard and Emily Louise McGregor Howard and was the widower of Tedda Howard whom he married on May 28, 1989. He was a 1971 graduate of Coleman High School, in 1975 earned a BS in Engineering Technology from Texas A & M and in 1977 received his Master’s Degree in Industrial Technology. From 1977 – 1988 he worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron “CBI” and during this time worked at over 25 locations. After working 31 years, Stan retired as a welding material principal engineer having worked at the Savannah River National Lab. During this time, he worked for E. I. DuPont, Westinghouse, and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. He was a member of the American Welding Society and was a Certified Welding Instructor. He was President of the Astronomy Club of Augusta and Vice-President of Observing. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he led the Brotherhood for several years and was a member of the Adult II Sunday School class.
Stan is preceded in death by his loving wife, Tedda Howard, on November 5, 2023.
Survivors include his daughter, Agnes Marguerite Howard of Aiken, SC; a sister, Donna Sue Brown and husband Scott of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Ronnie Wayne Howard and wife Beth of College Station, Texas; an uncle, Jimmy McGregor and wife Barbara; and several nephews, Glenn Pearson, Robby Pearson, Brian Howard, Jim Ferguson and Fred Ferguson.

Tedda Howard, age 76, died Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Tedda was born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Fritz Niesemann and Josephine Charlotte “Josette” Ulrich Niesemann and was married to Stanley Ray “Stanley” Ray Howard whom she married on May 28, 1989. Tedda worked 365 hours as a Junior Nurse’s Aide at the Aiken Hospital, was a 1965 graduate of Aiken High School, attended USC in Columbia from 1965 – 1969; she graduated with a degree in Biology and in 1977 earned her Master’s Degree in Biology. Tedda was a substitute high school teacher, a teaching assistant in the Biology Department at USC-Columbia, an instructor at Spartanburg Methodist College, was a Life Insurance Agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was owner of Cable Compute. She was a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC). She was a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, having taught water safety at Richardson’s Lake. She was President of the Astronomy Club of Augusta where she also served as the Web-Editor. Tedda attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Elko where she attended the Adult II Sunday School Class, was in the Elko Baptist Church WMU, and was the Children’s Choir Director at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. She was a self-employed farmer who loved tending to her goats and donkeys. Her husband, Stan Howard, passed away November 16, 2023.
Survivors include her daughter, Agnes Marguerite Howard of Aiken, SC; a sister, Kathi Ferguson of Verona, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie Wayne Howard and wife Beth of College Station, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna Sue H. Brown and husband Scott of San Antonio, Texas; nephews, Jim Ferguson, Fred Ferguson, Glenn Pearson, Robby Pearson and Brian Howard.
