Austin Pittman (12) and the Brownwood boys improved to 5-8 on the season with Friday’s victories.BRADY – The Brownwood Lions chalked up two more victories at the Brady tournament Saturday, running their win streak to three games, as they knocked off Blanco, 71-56, and Grape Creek, 85-36.
In the first game against Blanco, the Lions led 18-11 after one quarter, 40-32 at halftime, and 63-47 through three periods.
Casey Friebel again led the charge with 15 points followed by Morsello Hooker with 13, Ike Hall with eight, Austin Pittman and Hayden Noe with seven apiece, Carson Noe and Aaron Edmonds with six each, Hayden Proffitt with four, and Ross Strasner, Weston Wolf and Grant Gray with two points apiece.
Against Grape Creek, the Lions were in front 28-0 through one period, 55-14 at the break, and 74-27 heading into the final quarter.
Friebel poured in 16 points trailed by Stasner and Edmonds with 12 apiece, Hall with 10, Hayden Noe with nine, Pittman with seven, Hooker with six, Quinten McCarty with five, Wolf with four, and Grany and Proffitt with two points each.
The Lions (5-8) will face host Brady at 1 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game of the game.
