BENBROOK – The Brownwood Lions’ search for their first basketball victory of the season will continue following a 72-62 setback at Benbrook Friday night.
The Lions (0-2) trailed 23-13 after one quarter and 36-23 at halftime, but scored 14 of the first 16 points in the second half and led 47-46 heading into the fourth period. There, Benbrook regained control and outscored the Lions 26-15 down the stretch.
Casey Friebel led Brownwood with 20 points followed by 16 from Gage Sparks, 11 from Austin Pittman, eight from Joel Holguin, three from Noah Pyle and two points from Durham Brown.
The Lions will host Brady at 2 p.m. Monday then welcome Early at noon Tuesday in their final two games before the Thanksgiving break.
