
HAMILTON – The Brownwood Lady Lions bounced back from their first loss of the season Friday with their fifth victory in six outings, 51-24 over McGregor at the Hamilton tournament.
With the win, the Lady Lions (5-1) will face Goldthwaite at 3:10 p.m. Saturday in their Hamilton tournament finale.
Against McGregor Friday, Brownwood led 13-2 after one quarter, 30-9 at halftime and 40-14 through three quarters.
Kimber Green led the charge with 13 points trailed by Miranda Northcutt with 11, Trinity Roberts with eight, Hannah Deen and Icess Hall with six each, Inylah Hall with four, and Rylie Schaffer with three points.
The Lady Lions shot 35 percent (18 of 52) from the floor, 31 percent (6 of 19) from beyond the three-point arc, and 52 percent (9 of 17) from the free throw line. Brownwood also grabbed 42 rebounds and forced 15 steals, while committing 18 turnovers.
