On Thursday, November 16, the Brookesmith Junior High Cheerleaders hosted the TURKEY BOWL fundraiser in the gymnasium. For $5 a try, students and staff bowled a 21 pound frozen turkey down a hardwood floor to see who could knock down the most pins with one bird. Contestants competed in one of three categories: Elementary, Junior High/HIgh School and Adult. Approximately 200 students and faculty turned out to watch the action. In the Elementary Division, third grader Kelton Rice was the top gobbler. In the Junior High/High School Division, Senior Trey Toft clucked his way to victory. In the adult division, Coach Graves dominated and yelped his way to the winner’s circle. Elementary teacher and Junior High cheer sponsor Katie Mann arranged the event. The proceeds will support Junior High cheerleader activities.
