MAY – In a see-saw battle between Brown County programs, the Early Lady Horns were eventually able to pull away from the May Lady Tigers in overtime for a 60-53 victory Tuesday night.
Early (3-1) led May (3-1) by a 13-12 count after one quarter, 20-17 at halftime, and 34-33 through three periods, but the Lady Tigers tied the game at 49 at the end of regulation. In the extra session, the Lady Horns owned an 11-4 edge on the scoreboard.
Early was sparked by a 23-point effort from Jamie Vassar trailed by 11 points from Lindsey Bastardo, 7 from Jenna Hataway, Gabby Benson and Cassidy Frerichs with 6 each, Dakota Barksdale with 5, and Pearl Sharp with 2 points.
For May, Jordyn Gerhardt poured in a team-high 17 points followed by Chloe Lord with 14, Kenleigh Williford with 9, McKenna Landes with 6, Mia Musick with 5 and Kenlyn King with 2 points.
