ROUND ROCK – Brownwood Lady Lion junior Sidney Windham placed 75th at the UIL Class 4A girls cross country state meet Saturday at Old Settlers Park.
Windham, running for the first time at Old Settlers Park, was clocked in a time of 12:42.0. Earlier this week on the Brownwood Lions Coach’s Show on KOXE, Windham stated her goal was to run a time in the 12:30s or 12:40s.
Canyon’s Addyson Bristow won the individual state championship in a time of 11:08.5, followed by the Canyon Randall duo of Nayomi Granados (11:17.6) and Brooke French (11:17.61) in the silver and bronze medal positions.
Canyon Randall won the team state championship with 50 points followed by silver medalist Fredericksburg with 61 points and bronze medalist Salado with 103 points.
Windham qualified for her first state meet by finishing 16th overall at the Region I-4A meet Oct. 24 at Mae Simmons Park in a time of 13:00.5. She ranked seventh among runners not on a state-qualifying team.
