With one day remaining in early voting for the Nov. 7 constitutional amendment election, 1,428 ballots have been cast in Brown County after 243 voters went to the polls Thursday.
Early voting will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Brown County Elections Office at 613 North Fisk.
Prop. 4 deals with increasing the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation by a school district on residence homesteads from $40,000 to $100,000.
Prop. 9 authorizes a cost-of-living adjustment to certain annuitants of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
