The Howard Payne University men’s soccer team fell 2-1 on the road in their ASC Quarterfinal match against Hardin-Simmons Tuesday (Oct. 31) at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The loss dropped Howard Payne’s record to 3-12-2 overall.
How it Happened
Howard Payne opened the scoring when Phrabvir Singh notched his first goal of the season in the 31st minute, assisted by Taylor Hefner.
The Cowboys levelled the game on a goal from Liam Cisneros in the 39th minute, assisted by J.J. Sissen.
Hardin-Simmons then busted up the 1-1 draw on Gage Riley’s 44th-minute goal. The score closed the 2-1 game.

HPU concludes their 2023 season with a loss on the road at Hardin-Simmons in the ASC Quarterfinals in Abilene, Texas. In Coach Brandon McGibeny’s first year he was able to lead the Yellow Jackets to their first ASC Tournament appearance since 2014. Howard Payne will look to build off this next year, as they finished the 2023 season strong with a record of 2-3-2 in their last seven games.
