The 10u Bombers Sheffield squad went 6-0 last weekend and won 1st out of 7 teams competing. They played some great teams and it did not phase them.
Scout Sheffield led the team with a .667 average and was offensive mvp, she was a small pack of dynamite playing both small ball and poking in base hits. Raeley Baker was also an offensive MVP as she hit .500 on the weekend. She got a pool play mvp from the Bombers coaches as well in pool play. Reese Robinson was defensive MVP striking out 28 people in 12 innings. Reese also hit .500 on the weekend. Taylor Dunn was tourney MVP as she hit .467 this weekend and had a .750 fielding percentage at short stop. She had some great plays at short stop. Taylor also got a pool play MVP from Bomber coaches for her stellar hitting in pool play. She was also clutch in our 2nd bracket game win, which was the toughest game the team played. Gentry McMillian also had a clutch blast to left center field in bracket game 2 that resulted in the winning run. She had a hot bat all weekend. Harper White caught each inning of every game this weekend. She gunned down runners and kept them honest all weekend. Brayzie Slayton was a lightening bolt in the lead off role all weekend as well. It takes confidence and discipline to be a leadoff batter and she takes that role to an entire new level. Kaylee Cheek pitched 3 innings this weekend and had 7 strikeouts. Scout Sheffield pitched 2 innings and had 4 strikeouts as well.
The 10u Bombers Sheffield are 31-8 on the season. They have competed in 8 tournaments so far and have 5 first place finishes and two second place finishes. These girls are fun to watch.
