The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of October 25:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 69-73 degrees; 8.50 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.37 pounds are good on glide baits, whopper ploppers, jigs, and on crankbaits in 1-12 feet of water. Bait is moving into the cove pockets. Crappie catches are good to 1.00 pound in 8-12 feet of water on brush piles and around docks using minnows. White bass are fair to 1.06 pounds on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow to go trick-or-treating this weekend, but may bite for a treat of prepared or cut bait.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 75 degrees; 11.39 feet below pool. Bass and catfish are biting on worms and minnows. Crappie are biting in the evening, best on minnows. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water stained; 73 degrees; 8.71 feet below pool. Due to recent rains water should be turbid. As the weather is cooling expect the crappie bite to pick up on minnows or jigs. Bass are fair using soft plastics and jigs tipped with a Hags Undertaker Jr, crankbaits, chatterbaits and topwaters. Point near Quail Creek Cove is good for hybrids on topwaters in the morning and evening, and rattletraps or crankbaits throughout the day. White and hybrids are fair under the lights at night on fast moving baits. Channel catfish are fair. Launching may be difficult due to the low lake level.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
FAIR. Water stained; 80 degrees; 29.53 feet below pool. White bass are fair live baits and plastic baits. Crappie are good on live bait or jigs. Largemouth are fair. As the lake level continues to drop, navigate with caution watching for trees. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
FAIR. Water stained; 75 degrees; 13.92 feet below pool. Black bass are slow. Catfish can be caught casting spells or stinkbait. Hybrid and sand bass are schooling biting slabs. Crappie are hitting minnows around rock structures.
