Janet was born to Fred Wood Parker and Jeanette Marion Pfohl on November 2, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Janet spent 30 years with the love of her life, Herb Tisdale. Janet and Herb enjoyed road-tripping to visit the old missions of Texas. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Jim, Karyn, and Matt Arrington. Janet served as a nurse in and around Brownwood for thirty years. She loved to cook and bake for her friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes was crafting with her grandkids. If you knew Janet, you admired her green thumb, she could grow anything in the dirt. She was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the local animal shelter. Janet was a devout Lutheran and a lifetime member of the NRA. Janet will be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Janet is survived by her son, Matt Arrington, and wife Skye of Early, Texas. Her sisters Sandra Peach of Brownwood, Barbara Brown of Minnesota, and Kathleen Dohr of Washington. Her grandchildren include Connor Arrington and wife Hannah of Brownwood, Joshua Arrington and wife Amanda of Bangs; Dylan Arrington, Chazz Crooks, and Mitchelle Callaway of Brownwood; Rachel, Anna, Mattie, and Jaxon Arrington of Early. She is also survived by her many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents Fred Parker and Jeanette Parker, sister Rebecca Parker, brother James Parker, her husband Herb Tidale, her oldest son James (Jim) Arrington, and loving daughter Karyn Arlington. Though we will miss her presence here in this life, we rejoice that she no longer suffers in her earthly body and is joyously reunited with those who have gone before her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
