STEPHENVILLE – The Zephyr Bulldogs’ seventh-place team finish led the charge for the Brown County contingent of Class 3A and smaller schools that took part in the Thrill of the Hill Meet at Stephenville on Wednesday.
In the rest of the boys team standings, the Bangs Dragons came in 15th place while the Early Longhorns were 19th.
In girls action, the Bangs Lady Dragons finished 14th as a team while the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs were 22nd in the final standings.
Leading the way for the Zephyr boys were Eli Williams (4th, 18:54.24), Jim Evetts (14th, 19:34.94), Aaron Fagan (25th, 20:03.4), Riley McCuller (113th, 22:40.89), Reese Hamm (121st, 23:11.89), Cooper Walls (151st, 26:05.73), and Caleb Byers (165th, 28:38.14).
Running for the Dragons were Jayden Gerstenberger (64th, 21:10.17), Ben Perez (72nd, 21:23.47), Brennan Mendieta (76th, 21:27.83), Zack Ferguson (94th, 21:54.87), Noe Martinez (99th, 22:03.71), Colton Wagner (101st, 22:11.05), Weston Scantling (106th, 22:23.52), and Jackson Moore (131st, 23:38.9).
Comprising the Longhorns roster were Will Prochaska (78th, 21:28.94), Zackary Rumfield (117th, 22:56.44), Kamden Gamblin (130th, 23:36.53), Nathan Tollett (138th, 24:29.05), Daniel Bates (139th, 24:33.74), and Sam St. Ama (152nd, 26:07.83).
Also among the boys field from Brown County was May’s Mikey Scheriger (92nd, 21:51.21).
In the girls competition, the Lady Dragons were led by , Joey Newton (13th, 14:19.41), Jensine Stephens (65th, 15:43.9), Gentry Sheppard (77th, 15:56.07), Julia Scantling (108th, 16:25.87), Dyan McCurdy (110th, 16:39.02), and Kirsten Poling (158th, 18:46.56).
For Zephyr, competitors included Avery Dozier (63rd, 15:42.9), Madison McClain (154th, 18:38.39), Kirstan King (155th, 18:38.75), Bella Baker (173rd, 23:04.16), and Bethany Blair (174th, 23:13.16).
The Early Lady Horns were represented at the meet by Brooke Miller (53rd, 15:29.54), Kayleigh Torrez (113th, 16:47.64), Steely Fielder (116th, 16:50.08), and Adamari Ortega (161st, 18:52.99).
Competing on behalf of Blanket were Audyona Flores (76th, 15:55.33),vLexi French (100th, 16:26.52), and Dallas Moreno (159th, 18:47.82).
