MINERAL WELLS – The Brownwood Lady Lions slipped to 0-2 in District 6-4A volleyball action with a three-set road loss to formerly state-ranked Mineral Wells Tuesday night.
Aubrie Felux led the Lady Lions attack with seven kills followed by six from Hannah Deen, five from Miranda Northcutt, three from Aniah Hines, two from Jaslin Jones, and one from Emma Ringer.
Ringer distributed 11 assists, Icess Hall dished out six and Arieseli Hernandez was credited with one.
Felux also served four aces trailed by Jones with one.
On the defensive end, Deen and Molly Oliver each recorded seven digs followed by Jones and Hines with two apiece, and Ringer, Hall, Northcutt and Trinity Roberts with one apiece.
At the net, Northcutt and Roberts tallied two blocks apiece against Mineral Wells (23-6, 0-1), which was coming off a three-set loss to Graham.
The Lady Lions (7-21, 0-2) host No. 14 Stephenville in their first district match at Warren Gym at 5 p.m. Friday.
