Jackie Weldon Brown Jr., 66, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm at May First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Wolf Valley Cemetery. A visitation with family will be Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Weldon was born on October 9, 1956 in Odessa, TX to Jackie and Willie Jo Brawner Brown. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1976 and moved to May in 1980. He married Dianne Mitchell on February 7, 1986 and began a life together that blessed them with 6 children. Weldon was a fixer of all things. He enjoyed working on electronics, appliances, HVAC equipment, doing automotive paint and body work, and woodworking. He was employed at May ISD for 17 years. The last 6 years he was blessed to work at Heart of Texas Mechanical as an HVAC tech where his coworkers became family. Weldon was a Godly man who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and taught his children to do the same. He truly led by example. He loved his family and always put them and others before himself. Even in his final weeks he was entertaining his grandkids by making stuffed animals talk to them.

Weldon is survived by his wife Dianne of May; 3 sons, Wesley Brown and wife Makayla of Rising Star, Cody Brown and wife Victoria of May, Jacob Brown and wife Haylee of May; 2 daughters, Stephanie Froese and husband Jake of Rising Star, and Holli Brown of May; 9 grandchildren, Emma, Addi, Weston, Lakeyn and Isla Brown, Juakeen, Krispin, and Megan Froese, Vanessa Lawrence and husband Matt; one great granddaughter Maddie Sue Lawrence; one brother Tommy Brown of May; step mother who loved him like her own Ina Mae Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Willie Jo Brown; a son Caleb Matthew Brown; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
