BURNET – The Brownwood JV Lions improved to 3-0 on the season with a 28-0 triumph at Burnet Thursday night.
Quarterback Dallas Shumaker completed 8 of 11 passes for 110 yards and rushed for a 5-yard touchdown. Shumaker connected with receivers Grant Gray, Keedan Brooks, Durham Brown, and Raven Prado.
Prado scored two different ways on the night, an 80-yard kickoff return, and a 50-yard punt return for touchdowns. Prado also had an 84-yard interception return for a touchdown, which was called back for a block in the back penalty.
Caven Webster rushed for close to 100 yards and added a 9-yard touchdown.
Kicker Eliuth Valenciano made all four of his extra point attempts, and barely missed a 47-yard field goal try late in the game.
The Lions defense again pitched a shutout, forcing three turnovers on the night with three interceptions.
Linebackers Robbie Robinson, Brinson Martin, and Elias Munoz led the way with multiple tackles each and three sacks. Defensive tackles Treyvon Mitchell and Wesley Isquirdeo, and Aiden Driskill made huge plays as well.
The JV Lions have outscored their first three opponents of the season, 103-6, and will be back at Gordon Wood Stadium next week, hosting the Glen Rose Tigers on Thursday evening.

Burnet 16, Freshman Lions 0
BURNET – The Brownwood Freshman Lions slipped to 1-2 on the season with a 16-0 road loss at the Burnet Thursday.
Standouts were Nick Rodriguez with seven tackles; Wyatt Wolf with five tackles; Levi Moss with two tackles, one for loss, and a fumble recovery; and Kasyn Wooten with an interception.

Combined Team 14, Comanche 6
For the second week in a row, the Brownwood Combined Subvarsity Team knocked off Comanche at Gordon Wood Stadium, collecting a 14-6 victory Thursday.
Hayden Christiansen finished with one rushing touchdown and one passing touchdown, while Tru Pesina caught a touchdown pass and Noah Grummert added a two-point conversion.
Defensive standouts were Pesina with three interceptions; Lajon Bush with two pass break ups; and Isaac Gonzalez with two tackles for loss.
