Sheriff’s Office: Arrest made for dragging five-month pregnant woman from vehicle

  • On Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 5:15 a.m., Deputies Ricky Herring and John Geis were dispatched to C.R. 237, in reference to a domestic disturbance with the female advising she had been assaulted and dragged from the vehicle. The male suspect fled on foot. Upon arrival, the male subject was located and detained. Upon contacting the female, information was gathered, and it was determined she was five months pregnant and had visible bruising and injuries. The male suspect was placed under arrest for Assault Of Pregnant Person, a 3rd Degree Felony, Family Violence. The female was transported by Ambulance for medical treatment.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 5, at approximately 12:43 p.m. Deputy Thomas Beloat was dispatched to a deceased individual. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 1:47 p.m. Deputy Ricky Herring was dispatched via telephone call, in reference to a theft of a wallet from N. Highway 279. Herring contacted the victim by telephone and information was gathered.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 4:19 p.m., Deputy Ricky Herring was dispatched to W. Commerce, Brown County Law Enforcement Center lobby, in reference to a fraud. Upon arrival, information was gathered, and a theft report was taken.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 5, Deputy Toby Mathis spoke with an individual in regard to 3 goats on his property, which do not belong to him. An Estray report was made, after no owner could be located.
  • On Wednesday, Sept. 6, Deputy Toby Mathis spoke with a victim in regard to theft of property. The victim said a suspect stole a taillight and $1,100. Information was gathered, and a report was made for further investigation.
