Donald Williams, a beloved member of the Coleman community, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on July 1, 1942, in Coleman, Texas, Donald was known for his warm heart, strong work ethic, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Donald was a dedicated farmer and materials specialist in the oil field industry. He embraced his role with passion and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. Despite his busy schedule, Donald always found time to pursue his hobbies and give back to those in need.
A true sports enthusiast, Donald was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. He would often gather with friends and family to cheer on his favorite teams, creating cherished memories and moments of joy. His spirited enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his dedication to serving others.
Donald’s selfless nature shone through his volunteer work for Meals on Wheels in Midland and the Special Olympics. He was passionate about making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and went above and beyond to provide support, care, and compassion. Additionally, he served as a coach for Little League Baseball in both Coleman and Andrews, nurturing young talent and teaching invaluable life lessons. Donald married Linda Lawrence on June 3, 1962, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Donald is preceded in death by his loving parents, Jesse and Mabel Evelyn Eppler Williams.
Donald was a loving husband to his wife, Linda Williams, and a devoted father to his children, Gaylon Williams and wife Kathleen and Debbie Oliver and husband Vance. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to James Williams, Catharine Williams, Brandi Cardenas, and Caitlin Gresham and husband Ben, as well as being a great-grandfather to Isaiah Cardenas. Donald is also remembered by four brothers, Leland Williams and wife Gaynell, Gary Williams and wife Patti, Larry Williams and wife Shirley, and Danny Williams. Family meant everything to Donald, and he always made time for them, creating lasting bonds and beautiful memories.
Friends and family are invited to attend the family visitation, which will be held at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman on September 1, 2023, at 5:00 pm. to 6:30 pm. The funeral service will follow on September 2, 2023, also at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, at 10:00 am. with Seth Moore, pastor at Hords Creek Cowboy Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
