The Comanche County Historical Museum gladly announces the Celebration of Quanah Parker Day at the Museum on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 10 am – 4 pm. In 2019 Texas Governor Abbott proclaimed the second Saturday in September as Quanah Parker Day. Quanah Parker (1850-1911) was a War Chief who became a successful rancher & investor. He was a friend of Theodore Roosevelt and Charles Goodnight. Native American Indian & Board Member, Lee White plans to present information & artifacts of Quanah Parker. Rod Corpus, a Comanche Native American will be our special guest. There will be a video presentation as well as artifacts.
The Comanche Museum is located at 402 Moorman Dr. west of Bayer Motor Co. The Museum is open Wed. through Sat. 10 am -4 pm.
