4-H ENROLLMENT IS OPEN ON 4-H CONNECT!

The enrollment process for the 2023-2024 4-H year begins August 15, 2023. All 4-H families, new and returning, are encouraged to log in and enroll to become an official 4-H member.

As you begin your enrollment for the year, here are some tips in using 4-H CONNECT:

• If you already have a profile DO NOT create another one!
• If you lost your email and password, call the county office so we can reset, it for you.
• An active membership will not be granted until the $25.00 participation fee is paid on 4-H Connect!
• You cannot register or participate in an event until your profile is ACTIVE.
• When you are doing your re-enrollment for the 2023-2024 4-H Year please make sure you update your address, phone number, and e-mail address.
• For any youth who is joining 4-H in 2023-2024 for the first time as a 3^rd/4^th grader we ask for you NOT TO ENROLL until September 1st.  September 1st is the actual first day of the new 4-H year and what is used to calculate grade/age.  If a 2nd grader moving into 3rd grade enrolls before September 1st it will “tag” them as a Clover Kid, not charge an enrollment fee and lock them in as a Clover Kid for the year.

Don’t wait until the last minute to enroll because after October 31^st the cost increases to $30!!

The Texas 4-H fee schedule is below:
$25.00 – Club Member Enrollment Discounted Fee: August 15 – October 31
$30.00 – Club Member Enrollment Regular Fee: November 1 to the completion of 4-H year
$10.00 – Clover Kid Enrollment Regular Fee
$10.00 – Adult Volunteer Application Fee

BROWN COUNTY 4-H ANNUAL BANQUET

TACO ‘BOUT A FIESTA! Join us in celebrating Brown County 4-H members and their achievements for 2022-23 4-H year. The banquet will be held on Sunday, August 27^th 5-7pm at the Claybird Event Center 5895 CR 225, Brownwood, TX. We ask that you RSVP by August 21^st to the Extension Office.

BROWN COUNTY 4-H FOOD & NUTRITION FIELD DAY

Do you have an interest in learning more about 4-H food & nutrition projects or wanting to gain more knowledge for your food & nutrition projects? If so, Saturday, August 26^th beginning at 9am at the Extension Office there will be a Brown County 4-H Food & Nutrition Field Day. Below is an outline of the field day:

BROWN COUNTY 4-H LIVESTOCK JUDGING BEGINNER WORKSHOP

There will be a Brown County 4-H Livestock Judging Beginner Workshop on

August 28, 29, & 30 4:30pm at the Extension Office. This workshop is a 4-day workshop for novice 4-H livestock judging members. Bring a steno and pencil. If you are interested or would like more information contact Nick Gonzales.

HUNTER EDUCATION CLASSROOM COURSE BEING OFFERED IN BROWNWOOD

There is going to be a Hunter Education Classroom Course on September 16^th, 8:00am-5:00pm at the Brownwood Claybird Club at the Brownwood Country Club.

This course is designed for novice or young hunters, ages 9 years of age and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The fee for the certification is $15 payable at the door, DO NOT PAY ONLINE. Please bring a sack lunch as there will not be time to leave for lunch.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

SHP is a national organization that is made up of volunteers that build, assemble, and deliver brand new twin beds or bunk beds to kids in need.

We have a local chapter in Brownwood and are always needing volunteers. 

Ways to Help
