Donald Lee Engle

Donald Lee Engle was 85 years old when he passed away in Brownwood, Texas to be with our Heavenly Father. He had a full life and was ready to go home to Heaven. There will be a small Family Service at a later date.

Donald L. Engle was born in Abilene, Texas to Ira Donald Engle and Effie Lucille (Ashworth) Engle on September 20, 1937. He graduated from Richmond Union High School in Richmond, California on June 17, 1955.

He joined the Air Force after graduating in October 1955. He was at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Georgia Air Force Base in Georgia, Edwards Air Force Base in California, and was finally stationed in Thule, Greenland Air Force Base. He was an Airman 2nd Class Jet Engine Mechanic. He received his Honorable Discharged in February 1959. He loved bowling and joined leagues and tournaments.

Donald Lee Engle was preceded in death by two of his daughters Cathy Gale (Engle) Cortez and Cindy Rea (Engle) McDaniel; parents: Ira Donald Engle and Effie Lucille (Ashworth) Engle; brothers: Daniel Engle and Barry Engle; sisters: Carla Glaze, Sharon Engle, and Dolores Cyr.

Donald L. Engle is survived by his oldest daughter Carol Diane (Engle) Wade and husband Michael of Zephyr; brother: Gary Engle in Oklahoma; grandchildren; Kyle Newman and wife Mary of Manor, TX, Craig Newman of Manor, TX, Tracey Hatley of Comanche, TX, and Michael Wade of Zephyr, TX; great grandchildren: Adam and Emily Newman of Manor, TX, and Derick Hatley of Comanche, TX.

Our family wants to extend our sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, CNA’s, the Laundry and Food staff of Songbird Nursing Home. Also, a special thanks to Solaris Hospice Service for their caring assistance.
