The Heartland Association of Realtors recently had a volunteer workday to build beds for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization. The realtors raised funds for twenty beds, and over sixty volunteers turned out on Saturday, August 12 to build the beds. Wyatt and Ashton Hinton, owners of Tiny Homes Direct LLC in Bangs, allowed the realtors to use their manufacturing facilities to build the beds.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace in a national organization “…dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need,” according to the organization’s website. The website further states “We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. …Across the United States too many boys and girls go without a bed or even a pillow to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.” The local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is headed by co-Presidents Robert Clark and Gene Russell.
The Heartland Association of Realtors would like to thank their sponsors for this project: Texas Bank, MC Bank, Home Town Liquor, Ranch and Hunting Land Realty LLC, Texas Bank Employees, Pecan Valley Real Estate, Texas Goldstar Real Estate, Ann Jones Real Estate, Jackie Randall, Cathryn Davis, United Country-Heart of Texas Real Estate, The Wells Team Real Estate, and PS Mortgage.
