All three Brown County cities saw an increase in sales tax allocation in August. The City of Early had the largest increase at 14.34%. August sales tax allocations from the Texas Comptroller’s Office reflect taxable retail sales in the month of June 2023. Details below.
CITY OF BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $720,430 in August, an increase of 9.13% vs. August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2022 through August 2023) Brownwood has received $6,743,329, an increase of 9.12% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $231,876 in August, an increase of 10.89% vs. August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $2,177,503, up 8.4% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
CITY OF EARLY
The City of Early received $257,770 in August, an increase of 14.34% compared to August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $2,530,595, an increase of 16.93% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $84,127 in August, an increase of 15.11% compared to August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $828,651, up 16.88% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
CITY OF BANGS
The City of Bangs received $24,124 in August, an increase of 4.09% compared to August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $229,475, up 8.78% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,389 in August, an increase of 7.42% compared to August 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $33,257, up 7.74% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
