Tuesday, August 29th is the date of an Ag Landowner Laws program being conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. The program will be held at the Adams Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams St. in Brownwood from 2-4pm.
The speaker will be Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, Extension Ag Law Specialist from Amarillo. She focuses on legal issues affecting Texas ag producers and landowners. She will be discussing key laws Texas landowners need to know.
Lashmet is a highly sought after specialist so this will be the only opportunity for most folks to attend one of her presentations in our area this year.
The ag laws program is open to anyone interested. There will be a $10 registration fee payable in cash at the door. Refreshments will be served sponsored by Brown County Farm Bureau.

Texas A&M AgriLife Sheep and Goat Field Day set for Aug. 18-19 in San Angelo
The 50th annual Texas A&M AgriLife Research Sheep and Goat Field Day will be held Aug.18- 19 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in San Angelo at 7887 U.S. Highway 87 N. This unique sheep and goat event provides producers and other interested persons the opportunity to attend educational presentations and participate in hands-on demonstrations. The speakers are experts in industry. This program meets the needs of a very diverse sheep and goat industry.
The event will start at 7:30 a.m. on Friday at 7:30am on Friday, August 18th at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in San Angelo (7887 US HWY 87 North.)
The 2023 Texas Sheep and Goat Expo will begin with lunch at 12p.m. on Friday at the San Angelo Fairgrounds First Community Spur Arena, and the days’ activities will conclude at 8:30pm. They will begin Saturday, August 19 at 7:00am with breakfast and vendor demonstrations and the concurrent sessions for wool sheep, hair sheep, meat goats, angora goats, club lambs, and youth skill-a-thon workshop. The Expo concludes following lunch on Saturday.
