The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department Public Health Preparedness program is in the process
of planning for National Preparedness Month observation activities. The 2023 theme is Preparing for
Older Adults; older adults can face greater risks when it comes to the multitude of extreme weather events
and other emergencies, especially if they are living alone, are low-income, have a disability, or live in
rural areas.
If your agency, organization, or business services older adults and you would like to participate in
National Preparedness Month observation activities, please contact the Public Health Preparedness office
at [email protected] or 325-643-3793. A planning meeting will be conducted soon.
