The Brownwood Fire Department issued the following press release regarding a structure fire at 1509 Lane, which was reported at 7:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7.
Chief 9, Chief 92, Chief 93, Truck 9, Rescue 9, and Engine 92 responded with assistance from the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance, Brownwood Police Department and Brownwood Code Enforcement.
Upon arrival, the structure was fully involved in fire. The main body of the fire was knocked down by an aggressive exterior fire attack using pre-connected hose lines. Once the main body was extinguished an interior search was conducted to find no occupants inside. Firefighters ventilated smoke from the building and performed an overhaul checking for fire extension. The cause of the fire was undetermined. There was no one residing at the property at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries. The structure had extensive fire damage and was turned over to the Brownwood Code Enforcement for follow-up.
It took 20 minutes to get the fire under control and units were on site 1 hour and 31 minutes.
The fire is estimated to have caused $10,000 and a cause is currently unknown.
