Carole Lynn Spearman, age 84, of Brownwood, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, July 25, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel immediately followed by interment at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Carole was born on April 7, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Vernon and Christine Huston. Carole served as a registered nurse for over 40 years, specializing as a surgical nurse for 35 years. Many of her fellow nurses became life-long friends, who she has still maintained strong friendships with. She loved to tell a good joke and play her role in any prank that came along.
Carole loved her family and was a devoted mother. She was an avid shopper who could outlast her daughters. She loved online shopping and was quite proficient on the computer, especially Facebook. Carole had a life-long love of photography as is evidenced by the 300-pounds of photos in her house. She loved crappie fishing at the lake and was always up for the next adventure. She loved driving in the countryside. Carole also had a love for animals.
Carole is survived by her brothers, Dallas Huston and wife Linda of Brownwood, and Ralph Huston and wife Christina of Nashville, TN; her son Gerry Spearman of Mesquite; daughters, Jori Simmons and husband Terry of Rising Star, and Mary Ellen Smith and husband Jesse of Arlington, and son Jeff Spearman and wife Tami of Georgetown; grandchildren, Misty Sonnenberg, Amanda Cairns, Andrea Spearman, Jordon Berthelot, Kyle Smith, Courtney Coker, Garrett Smith, Caleb Spearman, Kylie Spearman; great-granddaughters, MacKenzie Sonnenberg, Addyson Sonnenberg, Dakota Cairns, Riggin Cairns and Daisy Cairns, Jadyn Berthelot, Riley Berthelot and Carson Coker and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents.
