The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of July 19:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 86-88 degrees; 5.55 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.74 pounds are good on jigs, glide baits, crankbaits and soft plastic worms in 3-20 feet of water. Crappie are slow in brush piles on jigs in 8-15 feet of water on minnows around docks. White bass are fair to 1.00 pounds in the lights or schooling on jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair to 8 pounds on jug lines and trotlines.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water normal stain; 85 degrees; 9.06 feet below pool. Bass, perch and channel cat have been biting at random on worms. Some early morning topwater bass action. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Slightly stained; 85-87 degrees; 6.53 feet below pool. Bass are fair to 9 pounds in the evenings using soft plastics. Crappie are slow in brush piles on jigs in 8-14 feet of water, and on minnows around the docks. White bass are slow in the lights at night using crankbaits, jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on cut gizzard shad off docks.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 25.82 feet below pool. White bass are good live baits and plastic baits. Crappie are good live bait or jigs. Largemouth bass are fair. Catfish are fair. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 86-89 degrees; 10.25 feet below pool. Sand bass are good in numbers near the island. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters. Crappie are good in 8-14 feet of water, but fish can be as deep as 25 feet along main lake points and along creek channels. Fish with a crappie rod and Snacky lures FS200 with the crappie magnet Eyehole jig round heads in 1/16th ounce tipped with minnows. Report by Robert Stover, Workingman Crappie Guide.
