The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Friday afternoon:
On Thursday, June 15, 2023, at approximately 2:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Lipscomb St. regarding a report of trespassing. The caller was reporting that 33-year-old Arturo Allen Cadena, of Brownwood, was at the residence and had an active trespass warning against him.
When the officers arrived, they located Cadena on the property. Officers attempted to contact the homeowner, but no one would answer the door. Ultimately, the Ring-doorbell camera activated, and a male identified himself as the caller and further explained that he would get the homeowner to exit the home. A short time later an adult female (victim) exited and was interviewed.
The victim identified herself as Cadena’s common-law wife. She was interviewed, and she discussed instances of physical abuse for several years and specifically detailed physical abuse over the last 4-month period. Physical evidence was obtained and Cadena was ultimately arrested for Continuous Violence Against the Family.
Cadena was transported to the Brown County Jail without further incident.
