Patsy Nadine Hibler Maultsby was born in San Saba County, Texas on June 22, 1931. She passed from this life on May 23, 2023 at the age of 91. Her parents were Christopher Columbus Hibler and Vallie Autry Hibler – better known as Chris and Coot.
Nadine was one of eleven children and shared her birth date with identical twin sister, Pauline Hibler Longley. The twins were inseparable and shared a bond that only twins can understand.
Nadine married Sammie Maultsby on June 13, 1948 sharing this special date with twin sister Pauline who married Alvis Longley.
Nadine and Sammie were blessed with three sons: Harold Wayne, Roy Allen, and Richard Newton. Nadine loved her husband and her boys as much as she loved life itself. She was a wonderful wife and mother who spent her life working by Sammie’s side in the turkey business and the real estate business. Nadine loved to work in her yard, maintaining the flowers and organizing her collection of rocks. She and Pauline shared a love for music that started as small children when their daddy would often bring them to town to sing in public. Into adulthood, Nadine and Pauline sang at the local nursing homes and other small gatherings. Nadine played the mandolin while Pauline played the guitar. Nadine also loved to keep everything around her organized and she continually worked on projects around the house, from moving furniture to tearing out walls or inserting doorways. Her boys were her assistants with home projects and they never knew what the next day would bring. Sammie only asked one thing, “just don’t move my bed”. After moving to the nursing home, Nadine continued to organize the room that she and Pauline shared. She also enjoyed picture painting, watching football, and visiting with family and friends.
Nadine is survived by her sons: Wayne Maultsby and wife Debbie, Roy Maultsby and wife Sherri, Richard Maultsby and wife Sabrina; her grandchildren: Gary Wayne Maultsby and wife Tonya, Wendy Maultsby Philpot and husband Wayne, Tera Ratliff Zapata and husband Frank, Bill Ratliff; her great-grandchildren: Joshua Smitherman, Emmi Zapata, Addi Zapata, Brooklyn Zapata, Cassie Philpot Kendrick and husband Roy, Sloan Maultsby Sadler and husband Aaron, Luke Pinkston, Cameron King and fiancé Parker Smith, Rylie Philpot, Hayden Maultsby, Johnna Maultsby; her great-great-grandchildren: Henry Kendrick, Everleigh Sadler, Greyson Sadler; her siblings: Pauline Hibler Longley, Doris Hibler Lusty Kriss, Shirley Hibler Alexander Barbe, George Hunter Hibler and wife Mary; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a multitude of friends, and her church family at the Second and Wallace Church of Christ.

The family would like to express our sincerest thanks to the staff at San Saba Nursing & Rehabilitation, and the former Pecan Valley Healthcare, for their compassion and devoted care after Nadine moved to the nursing home. She loved every employee and always bragged on the food, snacks, and activities. Each of you made the last several years extra special for her. The family would also like to thank the staff of Med-Surgery West at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Marble Falls. The care and compassion shown to Nadine and the family during her final days was exemplary.
