The Brownwood Fire Department responded at 3:36 a.m. Wednesday to a structure fire call at 318 Bluffview Drive.
Chief 9, Truck 9, Rescue 9 and Engine 92 responded with assistance from the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance, Brownwood Police and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, the Brownwood Fire Department was called to the aforementioned address for the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival the fire was contained to the exterior of the structure and attic area. This is a four unit apartment building with only one unit being effected by fire. One occupant was displaced due to the fire damage sustained. Firefighters ventilated smoke from the apartment building and performed overhaul checking for fire extension. Fire was accidental in nature and started on the exterior of the building. There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire was determined as improperly discarded smoking materials with damages at $20,000.
