The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 17:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 72-76 degrees; 6.67 feet below pool. The bass have moved to a summer pattern. Black bass to 9.57 pounds are good on glide baits, jigs, crankbaits and shaky heads in 4-18 feet of water. Crappie are good around the lake on jigs in 8-14 feet of water on minnows around the docks. White bass are fair, scattered around the lake and in the lights on crankbaits, jigs and minnows. Catfish are good to 35 pounds on cut gizzard shad near the flats using jugs.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water normal stain; 70 degrees; 8.86 feet below pool. Crappie are great in the evening. Perch are good throughout the day. Catfish are good at night. Bass are slow. The lake is turning over and water clarity is murky.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Slightly stained; 76 degrees; 5.87 feet below pool. Bass and crappie are in a post spawn pattern pushing offshore to brush piles. Bass can be caught on soft plastics, and the early morning topwater bite should be starting soon. Crappie can be caught on minnows or jigs.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water stained; 78 degrees; 25.09 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good using soft plastics. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie good using minnows. Catfish are good on live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 72 degrees; 9.95 feet below pool. Sand bass and hybrids are good trolling crankbaits across points. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
