A new feature has been added to Warren Gym this week, as the walls now bear the record holders who played for the Brownwood Lady Lions basketball program.
Lady Lions head coach Heather Hohertz, who just concluded her 14th year in charge of the program, talked about the importance of the new additions.
“I wanted to show the history of Lady Lions basketball with these boards and have them serve as motivation to the ones coming up and those currently playing,” Hohertz said. “These are goals to shoot for individually and as a team.”
In 14 seasons, Hohertz owns a 283-166 record as Lady Lions head coach with13 playoff berths, a pair of district championships and a regional tournament appearance during the 2016-17 season.
“When I took over they’d never made the playoffs and we’ve been pretty consistent with that every year,” Hohertz said. “I’ve been blessed by the players that have come through the program in my 14 years, and the hard work they’ve put in. I wanted to recognize them with these boards.”
