The May Tigers 4×400 relay team of Bryson Guerrero, Ben Harrell, Damian Salinas and Lane Goodson is headed to Austin to the compete in the UIL Track and Field State Championships.
The quartet finished third at the Region II-A track and field meet in San Angelo over the weekend, and learned Monday they also had the best third-place time (3:32.56) from any region in the state to become the ninth qualifier for the event.
The Tigers’ addition brings the total of Brown County state entries to 10, which are listed below along with the qualifying times/distances in their events:

- Blanket’s Levi Vazquez boys long jump (20-6) – 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13
- Zephyr’s Ronni McClain girls pole vault (9-3) – 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13
- May’s Amanda Harrell girls shot put (35-3.5) – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13
