Tuesday night at the Chick-fil-A location in Brownwood, team members Ashley Schimmel, Austin Adams, Jakson Yoder, Bri Ramirez, Mo Goff, Chase Churchwell, and Clayton Schulze received scholarships totaling $14,500.
Schimmel has worked at Chick-fil-A for two and a half years and is a sophomore at Howard Payne. She is a Biomedical Science major and plans to become a vet tech and attend vet school at Texas A&M.
She chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because of “the culture, people, location and food. It’s a very friendly and loving company.”
Adams has worked at Chick-fil-A for 12 years and attends Texas Tech-Abilene. He is a BSN/CRNA major will plans to become a CRNA in the medical field to be a steward for those in the areal
He chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because “it’s a great place to refresh and be blessed to help others.”
Yoder has worked at Chick-fil-A for eight months and will be attending Texas State University. A senior at Brownwood High, Yoder will major in Finance/Business with plans to become a financial planner or advisor.
He chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because of “how nice the workers are, and I enjoy the environment and the people I interact with.”
Ramirez has worked at Chick-fil-A for 13 months and is a junior at Howard Payne. She majors in Kinesiology with a goal of eventually attaining her Master’s degree at HPU.
She chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because of “the culture and to build my communication skills. I love my coworkers and the atmosphere we have here.”
Goff has worked at Chick-fil-A for one year and is a junior at Howard Payne. He majors in Jurisprudence with a goal of pursuing academic research at an R1 institution.
Among the positives of working at Chick-fil-A Brownwood, he said, “It’s a positive work environment with flexible hours, and I’ve learned more about communication skills.”
Churchwell has worked at Chick-fil-A for almost four years and will be attending Howard Payne as a sophomore in the fall. He is an Accounting major and intends to become a CPA with a Master’s in Accounting.
He chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because “it’s a strong company with morals and a good work environment. I’ve grown in the avenues of leadership and team member relations.”
Schulze has worked at Chick-fil-A for a year and a half and is a sophomore at Point University. A Business Marketing major, he plans to find an entry level job in the field and work his way up to vice president.
He chose to work at Chick-fil-A Brownwood because of “the friendly atmosphere, flexible hours and food. I love all my coworkers and the food is great.”
Over the last two years, Chick-fil-A Brownwood has given away $19,000 worth of scholarships. Since 1973, Chick-fil-A has been able to invest more than $162 million in scholarships to help more than 93,000 team members pursue a higher education and achieve their remarkable future — whether it’s with Chick-fil-A or elsewhere.
