The Brownwood Lady Lions are alone in second place in the District 6-4A softball standings, and the Brownwood Lions are a half-game out of first place in the league’s baseball standings following Tuesday night’s results.
The district bye for both Brownwood diamond teams fell this week, and the Lady Lions have wrapped up their regular season with a 4-4 league mark. After Glen Rose’s 8-3 win over Stephenville Tuesday, both Glen Rose and Stephenville are 3-4 in district action with one game left Friday night. The winner of that contest will move into a tie for second place with Brownwood, as the Lady Lions split their two games with both Glen Rose and Stephenville.
The Lions, who conclude district play next week against Glen Rose, are 7-3 in league action. Stephenville knocked off Glen Rose, 14-10, Tuesday night, so Stephenville and Glen Rose now share the district lead with 7-2 records. The two teams play again Friday night, and next week Stephenville takes on Mineral Wells. Brownwood is 1-0 against Glen Rose in district, and 0-3 versus Stephenville.
