The second round and cut day at Birdies on the Bayou has come to a close. The players took on round two with favorable weather conditions. The morning started out a little chilly and windy, but warmed up quickly. This afternoon the players turned up the heat in an attempt to stay above the cut line and make a push up the leaderboard.
Tanner Gore (El Paso, TX) holds onto the top spot, finishing round two with a 4 under par 66, with a total of 11 under par heading into round three with a one shot lead. Following close on his tail is Tanner Napier (Paris, TX). Napier fired a 4 under par 65 to jump into second place behind Gore with a total of 10 under par. Hayden Wood (Edmond, OK) and Ryan Hall (Knoxville, TN) find themselves tied for third place, two shots behind Gore. Wood fired an impressive 6 under par 64 and Hall recorded a 4 under par 66, with a total of 9 under par for both players.
After today’s cut, the field size decreases from 142 players to 58. The remaining players will be fighting to make some major jumps in hopes of climbing the leaderboard during tomorrow’s moving day.
The third round will begin tomorrow at 8:00 AM CT with players being paired by score, with the leaders teeing off last. After the third round has concluded, the field will be re-paired by score again heading into the final round. The field over the next two days will be competing for their share of the $130,000 purse and the winner will take home $22,000.
